Question by kasey.andrew: What would you wear for an event with dress code “party casual?”?
My mom and dad are going to an event were the invitation says “party casual”, and being the nice type I am letting them use my yahoo account to ask. What exactly should they wear?

nice jeans. nice top. maybe a nice skirt. something conservative, but not stuffy.

basically just something that’s a little nicer than what you’d normally wear to hang out.

no jeans and no tuxedos…
your mom could wear a below knee length skirt but not too long… and your dad could just wear pants that make them look comfortable in those clothes..

I would think that they should wear something they would wear to go out for drinks with friends. (Something their age group would wear for that, not someone in their 20s) ;o).

For your mom: nice pants/jeans (not too faded/no rips) with a dressy/flirty top with a bold pattern always looks good. Try some fun jewelry with it, a nice necklace and dangling earrings would look nice. Heels are also appropriate but there are so many flats in stores now that there’s sure to be one that matches the shirt that she can find and would look great in. Also a short(ish) dress would look nice, nothing too long like a gown though, just below knee length.

For your dad: Really just nice pants, maybe nice jeans but usually on men they look too casual so try some khakis if he wants to be more comfortable, with a collared button down shirt or nice polo shirt – no tie is necessary. Nice shoes (no sandals) – they don’t have to be super shiny or anything though.

Hope your parents have fun at their event!
